My name is Aiman Merali and I am a BACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I offer talking therapy to individuals who are seeking to enhance their overall well-being. I have trained in Psychosynthesis, which is an integrative, holistic model focusing on mind, body, feelings and the soul journey. I use a transpersonal framing which lends itself to the incorporation of other well-known psychological models. I tailor my approach to the needs of my individual clients. I often use creative therapeutic tools in sessions such as images, stories, chair work and visualisations to access and facilitate space for deeper discovery.
Diversity and inclusion are reflected in my therapeutic practice. I intend to honour both the similarities and differences we share as fellow beings. I see myself as a supportive resource, facilitating a safe relationship through which clients can reclaim and employ their inner wisdom to make choices which enable them to seek out their potential. I offer short term therapy (usually a minimum of 8 sessions) and long term therapy for clients who are seeking a deeper understanding of their past experiences and how these may impact upon their present circumstances. In addition to my individual client practice I have worked within charity organisations and school settings, with university students and young professionals.
I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework and am in regular supervision. I also attend workshops and events to continue my training and development personally and professionally. Since Summer 2021 I have been a trainee supervisor and am currently completing my assessed client hours for this having completed the training in 2022.
